What is all this about assertiveness?

• There are four types of people: Aggressive, Passive Aggressive, Passive and Assertive.
• Everyone is different, but everyone wants to be treated as an equal.
• Expressing our feelings without damaging the other person’s is assertiveness.

How can I change?

Eleanor Roosevelt said: “Never allow a person to tell you no, who doesn’t have the power to say yes.” What we need to do is explain how we feel and why we want to be accepted by others. If you feel you can put across your views in a safe and calm manner, you have assertiveness.

THREE THINGS WE CAN DO TO REVERSE THE STIGMA

Learn how others feel. Educate ourselves. Change the future through assertiveness.

Change 1

How we interact with people tells them if we put their feelings first.

Change 2

How to educate to change depends if we are adapting our approach or just reacting.

Change 3

How to change to change depends if we are using our experience to pass on our experience.
