Our Mission

OVERVIEW:

The content of this website was produced, compiled and edited by Andrew Brown, Andrea Pereira and John Crook. We have developed this website to tackle head on the issue of how stigma affects the majority of people who have physical, mental and social difficulties. We are also in the situation of having to defend ourselves against injurious comments from others and also feelings of inadequacy brought about by media generated opinions regarding such things as mental and physical health issues and including social causes of stigma. More information is being added that we hope will help others to learn about stigma, educate others and thereby change the future for people affected by stigma in any way.

Are you interested in being a contributor to the site? We are enlisting new members and are particularly keen to enlist anyone who has experienced stigma due to: mental health, epilepsy, non epilepsy, ageism, racism, learning difficulties, physical difficulties or any other subject. Contact us if you have any ideas and articles we could use. Send any copy to stigmaticket@gmail.com.

As an indicator to how successful our website is, and what information we should include in the site, we rely on website statistics. Part of the process is an analysis of page visitors. To make sure individual pages reach higher levels of audience, we use software monitoring to enable us to understand the activity trends of our site so that we can meet the needs and fulfill the requests of our members and visitors each month. We also rely on advertising revenue to generate income to support the site and the precepts of our cause.

We use an online secure store: www.joineryfxtools.com where we are selling promotional goods and clothing, motivational and self-help books, talking books and films.

If you have any further questions regarding our site, please feel free to contact us.

Andrew gathered some information specifically for the Epilepsy section and John is adding information for the Mental Health section. Andrea Pereira, our American Advisor, contributed the articles for the Mental Health USA section. We are developing pages around other issues and will publish these as they are ready. If you have any experiences that you would like to offer, please contact us and we will provide assistance on how to proceed.

Please be assured of our continued support of all the issues regarding stigma.
